Actually, the first and important step is to reduce the amount of garbage we produce.

1. In fact的用法並無錯誤，但若用副詞Actually 可強調接下來的主張或內容更為重要。

2.「最根本的做法」是貼切的翻譯是「the first and important step」，強調在採取其它行動之前，應該採取最核心的行動。

3.garbage來自各處，因此句尾加 we produce 把讀者拉進來，表示垃圾是你我製造的，減量垃圾大家都有責任。

4、平時儘量避免使用免洗餐具，而且也要少喝瓶裝水。

At usual time, using unrecycled dishes and drinking the battle of water should be discouraged.

「避免」我之所以不用avoid主要是因為該字有「禁止」之意，但從文句知上述行為不是完全不能做，只是不鼓勵。

[評析]

Whenever we can, we should avoid using disposable and utensils and drink less battled water.

1.將「平時」譯為usual time是中文英文，是錯誤的翻法。正確的英文是most of time , all the time , normally , usually.

2.Whenever we can已將「平時、儘量」的意思表達出來，並不需要再加as much as possible.
